The State Security Court is scheduled to hold on Sunday the second hearing in the trial of defendants in the terrorist attack that targeted St. George Church in the town of Hamoud in Karak Governorate. The session will be devoted to hearing testimony from a number of eyewitnesses who observed the incident and the moments of the crime, as part of completing legal proceedings and establishing the facts on the ground before the court. The defendants appeared before judges at the previous opening session in good health, amid strict security and legal measures providing all fair-trial guarantees under applicable legislation.

The Prosecutor General of the State Security Court, Brigadier Military Judge Ahmad Talat Shhaltough, said last Tuesday that the Public Prosecution had completed all expanded investigative procedures in the case. These included hearing prosecution witnesses, collecting technical and material evidence from the crime scene, and preparing official records concerning the weapons and ammunition used in the attack, which took place on 23 October 2026.

He added that the investigations included interrogating the defendants who carried out the attack and all those who contributed to or participated in it, in order to dismantle all its threads and dimensions.
